Science partnerships are essential for tackling the dual threats of climate change and food security. By uniting leading international researchers, these collaborations can accelerate the development of climate-resilient crops, sustainable practices, and robust supply chains to protect vulnerable populations. The UK has a strong history of collaboration with CGIAR and there have been calls to strengthen ties between CGIAR Centers and UK science institutes.
Â
As part of London Climate Action Week, CGIAR’s Executive Managing Director Ismahane Elouafi will join an expert panel to discuss how UK agricultural science can be better harnessed to support climate resilience and food security efforts. The panellists will explore the case of the UK-CGIAR Centre and explain why innovative partnerships between the UK, CGIAR, and local partners are pivotal to achieving greater development impact.
